Heyward Leon Evans

Mr. Heyward Leon Evans, 78, made his final journey home on Saturday, January 14, 2023, in Rock Hill, SC. Services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 17th, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 6964 Wateree Road Great Falls, SC with Rev. J.D. Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 PM at Mt. Zion. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Mr. Evans was born November 21, 1944 in Great Falls, SC and was the son of the late Bascom and Beatrice Beckham Evans. He was a graduate of Great Falls High School and retired from the Chester Metropolitan and Sewer District. Heyward was an avid sports fan and enjoyed traveling. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. In addition to his wife Kay Evans, he is survived by four daughters, Robin White, Susan Smith, Mary Evans (Rusty), and Courtney Barron (Blake) and eight grandchildren; Sydney, Avery, Allan, Karlee (Brady), Madison, Koby, Aliy, and Carmella. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Clyde, Charlie, and Tommy Evans and one sister Margaret Evans. Memorials may be made to Mt.
