James Harvey "Bill" Bailey

Great Falls, SC;James Harvey “Bill”Bailey, Sr.,78, died Saturday, May 25, 2013 at his home. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 29, 2013 at Bethesda United Methodist Church with ReverendMike Catoe officiating. The family will also receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of the church. Interment will be held in the church cemetery. Mr. Bailey was born in Lando, SC on July 30, 1934. He was a son of the late Sam Bailey and Sarah Margaret Doster Bailey. He was a graduate of Great Falls High School and was retired as an insurance salesman having worked with Metropolitan and Kanawha Insurance. Mr. Bailey was an avid golfer, NASCAR fan and a billiards player. He was a huge fan of the Clemson Tigers and the Atlanta Braves. His passion was spending time with his family. Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Lila Jean Jackson Bailey; one son James Harvey “Jim” Bailey, Jr. of Rock Hill, SC; two daughters, Kimberly Bailey Pate and her husband Don “Fish” of Great Falls, SC and Stacy Bailey of Rock Hill, SC and one granddaughter, Jessica Ghent Gibbons and her husband Chris of Lexington, SC.
