James Gilbert Hill

James Gilbert Hill, 75, died Monday, April 14, 2025, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Great Falls Church of God with Rev. Roy Puckett officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Mr. Hill was born August 5, 1949 in Chester County, SC and was a son of the late Robert Lee Hill and Lillian Gladden Hill. He attended the schools of Great Falls. He worked as a weaver for J.P. Stevens #3 Plant and Springs Industries Katherine Plant. Mr. Hill was a member of Great Falls Church of God, Great Falls Masonic Lodge #277 and the Hejaz Shrine Temple. His hobbies were NASCAR, watching and feeding birds, fishing on his pond and sitting in his rocking chair on the back porch. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Nunnery Hill; three sons, James G. Hill, Jr. of Weston, Wisconsin, Michael Lee Hill (Alicia) of Roulf, TN and Scottie Ray Hill (Jamie) of Rock Hill, SC; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Ann Hill Broome (Allen) of Great Falls; a brother, Tony E. Hill of Great Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Rachel Crump, Robin Hill Young and Doris Kay Keenon.
