Blackstock Mr. James Carlisle "Jimmy" McDonald, 74, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the home of his grandson.The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Grover Johnson and Dr. David Riddle officiating.Interment will follow in Hebron Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, October 21, 2011 at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC. Jimmy was born June 12, 1937 and was a son of the late Storment Brown McDonald and Evelyn Sanders McDonald.He was a graduate of Blackstock High School and retired from the Fairfield County Sheriff's Department after more than 37 years of dedicated service in law enforcement.He received The Matt Peake Annual Memorial Award in 2007 in addition to numerous other awards over the years.Jimmy also enjoyed cattle farming and was a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church. He is survived by one daughter, Janice M. McManus of Norfolk, Va.; one granddaughter, Lauren McManus; one grandson, Steven McManus and wife Brandi of Blackstock; three great-grandchildren, Rebecca McManus and Austin McManus of Blackstock and James McManus of Norfolk, Va.He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Edward McDonald and a sister, Barbara McCormick.
