James Clarence Puckett

James Clarence Puckett, 85, died Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Piedmont Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Tabernacle Ministries with Pastor Kenneth Compton officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Tuesday at the church. Mr. Puckett was born March 2, 1939 in Richland, VA and was a son of the late James Robert Puckett and Nannie Cordell Puckett. He attended the schools of Richland, VA. Prior to moving to SC, he was employed as a coal miner. He was retired as a warper tender with J.P. Stevens. Mr. Puckett was a member of Tabernacle Ministries. He is survived by three children, Jamie Puckett (Tarsha) of Great Falls, Lea Massey (Reuben) and Melissa Taylor (Jack) both of Richburg; 15 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Roy Puckett of Great Falls, Bob Puckett of Great Falls and Jerry Puckett of Myrtle Beach; and six sisters, Ruby Shupe of Richburg, Nellie Rose of Richburg, Mary Gladden of Great Falls, Ann McAbee of Great Falls, Gail Roberts of Lancaster and Jean Puckett of New York. In addition to his parents, Mr. Puckett was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Blakley Puckett.
