Great Falls Mr. James William "Billy" Brown, 78, died Thursday, December 30, 2010 at his home.The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, January 3, 2011 at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Patrick Blackmon and Rev. Mike Sollers officiating.Interment with Masonic rites will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC. Born in Spartanburg County on September 2, 1932, he was a son of the late James Thomas Brown and Mittie Emory Brown Taylor.Mr. Brown graduated from Great Falls High School and was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean conflict.He served as a Great Falls policeman for over 20 years and retired from his law enforcement career as a SC Corrections Officer.He was also co-owner of the Village Grill for a number of years.He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the Great Falls Masonic Lodge #277. Mr. Brown is survived by three daughters, Deborah Yearwood of China Grove, NC, Shirley b. Lyles and husband Stanley of Great Falls, Wanda B. Edwards and husband Tim of Lancaster; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Wallace P. "Hambone" Brown and wife Connie of Great Falls and Lloyd Brown and wife Lenora of Heath Springs, SC; one sister, Evelyn B. Trotter of Great Falls. Memorials may be made to Regency Hospice, 420 S.
