Catawba, SC Mrs. Jean Alma Gamble Hudson, 89, died Friday, December 1, 2017, at her home.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Roddey Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Helms officiating.Interment will be private.The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Thursday at Roddey Baptist Church. Mrs. Hudson was born June 9, 1928 in Charleston, SC and was a daughter of the late Benjamin Gamble and Alma Sports Gamble.She was a graduate of the Charleston County schools and was owner and operator of Jean’s Dress Shop.Mrs. Hudson was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Mable H. Harris (Stephen) of Catawba; two grandsons, Brian Lanier of Rock Hill and James Todd Hudson of Dunn, NC; one granddaughter, Lisa H. Lucas (Bruce) of Lancaster; and seven great grandchildren, Eric Lanier, Ashley Bower (Greg), Jacob Secor, Benjamin Secor, Gaya Hudson, Cora Hudson, and Hazel Hudson; three great-great grandchildren, Emilia, Gregory, III and Finnegan Bower.Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jimmy” Hudson; a son, Jimbo Hudson; and a granddaughter, Angie Hudson.
