Jerry Edgar Mccowan

Blackstock Mr. Jerry Edgar McCowan, 79, died Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Lancaster Health and Rehabilitation. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev. Jim Williams officiating. Mr. McCowan was born November 2, 1943 and was a son of the late Hazel McCowan and Leona Lineberger McCowan. He was a graduate of Great Falls High School and Lees-McRae College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during Vietnam. Mr. McCowan was retired from DuPont as a line manager. He was a member of Great Falls Presbyterian Church. He is survived by a granddaughter, Madison McCowan (Stephen Singletary) of Lancaster, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Athena Kay McCowan; a son, Malcolm Lewis McCowan; and a brother, Ray Lewis McCowan.
