Blackstock Mrs. Joan A. Morgan, died peacefully at her home in Blackstock surrounded by her loving family. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 19th , at 11:00 AM at Saint Michael Catholic church in Great Falls, SC. Father Javier Heredia will officiate the Mass. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday June 18th at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave, Great Falls, SC. Mrs. Morgan was born December 1, 1934 in Buffalo, NY, and was the second daughter of the late George Weldon Martin and Bessie Eckstein Martin. Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her husband of over 61 years, Donald William Morgan, MD, DMSC, retired Army Colonel and Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry from the University of South Carolina.Mrs. Morgan enjoyed the beauty and serenity of the rolling hills of their property in Blackstock, SC, affectionately known as “ Sunnyboy Farm”. She was a member of Saint Michael Catholic Church in Great Falls, SC and a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology. She is lovingly known by her family asMom, Joan, Gramma, and Great Gramma. She is survived by her children Heather Bennett (Marty) of New Market , MD, Donald Morgan (Cindy) of Atlantic Beach , NC, Nalani Chamberlain(Timothy) of Blackstock, SC, and Marvin Morgan ( Susan) of Blackstock, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
