Great Falls Mr. John Douglas Lathan, 73, died Monday, October 21, 2019, at his home.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 25, 2019, at Bethesda United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Catoe and Rev. Dr. Marty Roberts officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, October 24, at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC. Mr. Lathan was born March 30, 1946 in Great Falls, SC and was a son of the late Will Lathan and Margaret Whitley Lathan.He was a graduate of Great Falls High School and attended York Tech.Mr. Lathan was a veteran of the U.S. Armyhaving served in Vietnam.He was retired from Duke Power as a machinist.Mr. Lathan was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and a member of Great Falls Masonic Lodge #277. He is survived by one son, John Douglas Lathan, II (Jeannie) of Williamston, SC; one daughter, Carman Lathan of Clinton, SC; twograndchildren, Marcie Ebbers of Great Falls, SC and Mason Lathan of Williamston, SC one sister, Linda McFarland (Keith) of Great Falls, SC; one brother, Wayne Brazzell of Great Falls, SC; and a special friend, Jane Phillips of Honea Path, SC.Mr. Lathan was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Baker Lathan.
