John Archie Lucas

Great Falls Mr. John Archie Lucas, 84, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at MUSC Charleston. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday December 5, 2020 at Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev. Roger Shuford and Rev. Dr. Marty Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service. Mr. Lucas was born August 27, 1936 in Lancaster County and was the son of the late Ernest Wendell Lucas and Willie McManus Lucas Holt. He was a graduate of Great Falls High School and was formerly employed with JP Stevens and then he entered into a private business becoming owner and operator of Great Falls Feed and Seed. Mr. Lucas was a member of Great Falls Lodge # 277 and was a Past Master. He was a Member of Hejaz Shrine Temple and Great Falls Shrine Club. He also served on Chester County Council for 30 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Great Falls where is served as deacon and Sunday School Teacher.He was a member of the Gideon’s. He was survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara Coker Lucas; three daughters, Sandra Heffner (Pete), Carol Ann Williams (Joey) and Linda Gibson (Danny) all of Great Falls, SC; five grandchildren, Justin Williams, Kayla Lee, Zachary Gibson, Joshua Heffner and Kyle Heffner; six great-grandchildren, Riley, Hayes and Jack Williams, Joshua and Jacob Lee and Drake Heffner; two brothers, Wendell Lucas and Bobby Lucas of Great Falls, SC.He was preceded in death by two sisters Margrete Huffstickler and Mildred Benfield.
