John B. Martin

Fort Lawn Mr. John B. Martin, 82, died Friday, July 15, 2016 at his home.Funeral services with full military rites will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, July 18, at Lando Church of God with Rev. Edward Harris officiating.Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Fort Lawn.The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Monday at Lando Church of God. Mr. Martin was born February 25, 1934 in Hickory Grove, SC and was a son of the late G.P. Martin and Sally Childress Martin.He was a graduate of Lewisville High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.He retired from Springs Industries.Mr. Martin was a member of Lando Church of God. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth ”Betty” Varnadore Martin; one son, Marion Martin of Edgemoor; one daughter, Beverly Cialone of Rock Hill; one brother, James Martin of Leslie; seven grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.Mr. Martin was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Kay Laws; and two sisters, Thelma Craig and Mary Ann Privette.
