John Franklin "Catfish" Plyler

Richburg Mr. John Franklin “Catfish” Plyler, 78, died Saturday, January 29, 2022, at MUSC Kershaw Health Medical Center.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Mitford Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Marty Roberts officiating. Mr. Plyler was born September 17, 1943 in Pageland, SC and was a son of the late James Harrison Plyler and Eula Horne Plyler Banks.He was formerly employed as an automobile mechanic.Mr. Plyler was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by one son, Reggie Carpenter of Lexington; two sisters, Peggy Daughtery (James) and Bonnie Leonhardt (Roddy); two brothers, Joe Plyler (Leslie) and James Banks; and many nieces and nephews.Mr. Plyler was preceded in death by his siblings, Billy Carson Plyler, Charles “Bud” Plyler, Betty “Till” Raffaldt and Mary “Randy” Threatt.
