Great Falls Mr. John Columbus Walters, 94, died Friday, December 27, 2019, in Rock Hill.A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, December 30, 2019, at Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Marty Roberts officiating.The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. Mr. Walters was born September 8, 1925 in Chesterfield County, SC and was a son of the late Roland Walters and Janie Mae Gaskin Ellis.He attended the schools of Great Falls and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during WWII.Mr. Walters was retired from J.P. Stevens.He was a member of First Baptist Church. He is survived by one son, Steve Walters (Jane) of Blackstock; one daughter, Sharyn Wright (Wesley) of Great Falls; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Ann Williams of North Augusta.Mr. Walters was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Threatt Walters; a granddaughter, Tammy Neely; and a grandson, Steven Neil Walters.
