Great Falls Mr. John Lee Williams, 93, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 6, 2021. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Second Baptist Church, Great Falls, SC with Rev. Tommy Howell officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Second Baptist Church, 40 Center St. Great Falls, SC 29055. Mr. Williams was born July 15, 1928 in Branchville, SC and was a son of the late Duncan Bellinger (D.B.) Williams and Mabel Bradham Williams. He was a graduate of Branchville High School and was the retired owner operator of Williams Exxon and Grocery in Winnsboro, SC. He was a member of the US Army Reserves.Mr. Williams was a member of Second Baptist Church where he was formerly a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Trustee. John was also a Mason. John's wife of over 49 years was Fannie Craig Williams, who passed away on June 13, 2019. Three children also preceded John in death, Peggy Cooper, Robert Williams, and Robin Tillery. He is survived by one daughter, Deborah Williams Jones (Charles) of Isle of Palms, SC; numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren. John was a lifetime member of the SC Railroad Museum in Winnsboro, SC and served on the board, as well as helped with train rides for families on weekends. He was a volunteer for many years with the SC Baptist Disaster Relief and the Red Cross, and traveled to many states after hurricane disasters to help clear roads and homes from fallen trees.He cleaned out apartments damaged in NY City after 9/11, and went to El Salvador to help after earthquake damage there.
