John Wesley Wright

Great Falls

John Wesley Wright, 84, died Monday, January 5, 2026, at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill, SC.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev. Marty Roberts and Rev. Patrick Blackmon officiating.  The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service.

Wesley was born June 20, 1941 in Lancaster County, SC and was a son of the late Prince Albert Wright and Lucille Lucas Wright.  He attended the schools of Great Falls and retired from Parkdale Mills in Mineral Springs, NC.  He was a member of Mitford Baptist Church.  Wesley was an avid Carolina Gamecock fan and he loved to fish.  He was devoted to his family.

He is survived by his wife, Sharyn Walters Wright; one son, John Russell Wright (Ginny) of Blythewood, SC; two daughters, Darlene Williams (Keith) of Great Falls, SC and Jennifer Lewis (Jason) of Clover, SC; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Brittany, Stephanie, Katie, Kyler, Taylor and Nicholas; seven great grandchildren; and one brother, David Wright (Mary) of Great Falls, SC.  In addition to his parents, Wesley was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Neely and two sisters, Peggy Lowery and Joyce Roberts.
