Joseph William Franklin

Mr. Joseph William Franklin, 75, died Monday, July 16, 2018 at Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital in Columbia. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, July 19, atGreat Falls Church Of God with Rev. Travis Shirley and Rev. William C. Franklin officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PMWednesday, July 18, at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Mr. Franklin was born March 1, 1943 in Newberry, SC a son of Mrs. Dorothy Worthy Franklin and the late Mr. Fred Ernest Franklin. He attended the schools of Whitmire, SC and was retired from Georgia Pacific. In addition to his mother, he is survived by five sons. William Jr. Franklin of Summerville, SC, Steven Franklin of Prosperity, SC, Joseph William Franklin, Jr. of Ortonville, Mi, Will H. Franklin of Ortonville, Mi, and Billy Franklin of Newberry, SC.; three daughters, Tammy Jones of Newberry, SC, Mary Rippy of Shelby, NC and Dorothy Franklin of Ortonville, Mi;one brother, Jimmy Franklin of Blythewood, SC; two sisters,Virginia Gibson of Newberry SC and Jannie Beckham of Great Falls, SC; nineteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.Mr. Franklin was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda P.
