Great Falls Mr. Joseph Edward Tibbs, 57, died Monday, September 22, 2014, at Novant Health in Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Wednesday, September 24, at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC. Services and interment will be private. Mr. Tibbs was born in York County, SC on July 25, 1957 and he was a son of John Austin Tibbs and Margaret Brakefield Tibbs.He was a graduate of Great Falls High School and York Technical College and served in the U.S. Navy.Mr. Tibbs was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans/Mechanized Calvary .He was previously employed with M.C. Assembly in Melbourne, Florida and also self-employed with JETMAP as a consultant. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Jennifer D. Ford of Charlotte, NC;one brother, John Carl Tibbs of Richburg, SC; one sister, Mary Amanda Acker of Buford, SC; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.Mr. Tibbs was preceded in death by two cousins, Tim and John Scoggins.
