GREAT FALLS, SC Mrs. Joy Broome Orr, age 79, of 15183 US Hwy. 21 North, Great Falls, SC died Thursday, September 10, 2009 at White Oak Manor, Lancaster, SC.Funeral services will be held Monday, September 14, 4:00 PM, at Mt. Dearborn United Methodist Church with the Rev. James H. Baker and Rev. Grover Johnson officiating.Interment will be at Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery. Born July 8, 1930 in Chester County, SC, she was the daughter of FlossieBroome and the late Chevis Ray Broome, Sr.She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. “Crickett” Orr.Mrs. Orr was a graduate of Great Falls High School.She retired from L.W. Fort Dental Practice as a dental assistant havingworked with both Dr. L.W. Fort, Sr. and Jr.She was a member of the Bethesda United Methodist Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by three sons,Rev. Charles R. Orr, Jr. of Westminster, SC, William I “Buddy” Orr of Great Falls, Larry R. Orr of Great Falls; one sister, Lynn Carter of Lancaster, SC; one brother, Ray Broome of Cayce, SC; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
