Great Falls, SC: Julian Shull Goings, 85, died Friday, May 13, 2011 at Dorn V.A. Hospital in Columbia, SC. An 11:00 AM Graveside Service will be held Monday, May 16, 2011 at Greenlawn Cemetery with Reverend Zack Williams officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, May 16, 2011 at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. Mr. Goings was born April 25, 1926 in Great Falls, SC, a son of the late Julian Shull Goings, Sr. and Adell Jacobs Goings. He was a graduate of Great Falls High School, a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during WWII and was retired from J.P. Stevens as a Loom Fixer after over forty years of service. Mr. Goings was a member of First Baptist Church of Great Falls and Great Falls Masonic Lodge #277. He was the widower of Louise Shaw Goings. He is survived by one son, Daryl Goings and his wife Linda Carol of Great Falls, SC; two daughters, Wanda Gambrell and her husband George of Ontario, Canada and Cathy Bell and her husband Brice of Rock Hill, SC; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Goings of Columbia, SC; three sisters, Florence Surber of Cicero, IL, Mary Dennis of Cross, SC and Gladys Wallace of Gastonia, NC. Mr. Goings was preceded in death by a son Gary Goings and a sister, Daisy Goings Wilson. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 606 Dearborn Street, Great Falls, 29055.
