Blackstock Karl McLin Bankhead, 82, died Monday, November 10, 2014, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at Hebron Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jim Williams and Rev. Marvin Tennant officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 14, in the sanctuary of Hebron Presbyterian Church. Mr. Bankhead was born July 21,1932 in Blackstock, SC and was a son of the late William McLin Bankhead and Esther McKeown Bankhead.He was a graduate of Great Falls High School class of 1950 and a veteran of the U.S. Army.Mr. Bankhead was retired from Duracell in Lancaster and a retired farmer.He was a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church and a 50-year member of Great Falls Masonic Lodge #277. He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Patti” Flegel Bankhead; one son, Karl McLin Johnson and wife Anne Marie of Heath Springs, one daughter, Judith Bankhead of Blackstock; three grandchildren, Kelly Blackmon (Cory) of Heath Springs,Clay Johnson (Casey) of Buford, Ga., and Garrett Borgaro of Rock Hill; and two great-grandchildren, Bailey Blackmon and Brooks Johnson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hebron Presbyterian Church Cemetery Association, 4776 Mountain Gap Rd., Blackstock, SC 29014.
