Great Falls Kathryn Martin Roddey, 88, died Saturday, April 27, 2013,at Lancaster Convalescent Center, Lancaster, SC.The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 30, 2013,at Trinity Baptist Church with Reverend Patrick Blackmon and Reverend Marty Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, April 29, 2013,from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home, 4497 Great Falls Highway, Great Falls, SC 29055.Interment will be held in Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Roddey was born in Chester County, SC,on September 9, 1924. She was a daughter of the late Elic L. Martin, Sr. and Emma Parrish Martin and the widow of Wallace Franklin Roddey. She was a graduate of Great Falls High School and was retired from J. P. Stevens as a secretary.Mrs. Roddey was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church where shepreviously served aschurch secretary andSunday School teacher. She was also a member of Great Falls Eastern Star Chapter #211. Mrs. Roddey is survived by two daughters, Mary R.Brown of Great Falls, SC,and Cheryl R. Biconishand her husband Stan of Fuquay-Varina, NC; four grandchildren, Chip Edwards of Blythewood, SC, Shannon Edwards and fiance’ James, Jeff Edwards,and Lauren Biconish all of Great Falls, SC,and a great-granddaughter, Channing Edwards of Lancaster, SC. Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, PO Box 297, Great Falls, SC 29055,or Ebenezer United Methodist Church “Cemetery Fund,” 229 St. Michael Avenue, Great Falls, SC 29055.
