Kevin Wayne Newland, Sr.

Kevin Wayne Newland, Sr., 56, died Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at his home, 1633 Catawba River Rd., Fort Lawn, SC 29714.

Kevin was born November 18, 1968 in Sarasota, Florida and attended Venice High School, Venice, Florida.  He was a long distance truck driver and could operate heavy equipment.  He also did some maintenance work at Ross Distribution.  Kevin was an Ohio State Buckeyes and a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.  He also followed NASCAR racing especially Jimmy Johnson.  He was a huge Harley Davidson fan.  Kevin was a member of Fort Lawn Baptist Church.

He is survived by his parents, Martin Leroy Newland and Connie Jean Burkey Newland; three children, Kevin Wayne Newland, Jr. (Rachael) of Tampa, FL, Donovan James Newland and Joshua Morgan Newland both of Fort Lawn, SC; three grandchildren, Scarlet, Aiden and Peyton; sisters, Donna Futhmiller (Kevin) of Fort Wayne, IN, Connie Slusher, Wanda Carpenter (Tim) and Loretta Aquaro (Mike) all of St. Mary's, OH, and Angela Selfridge (Thomas) of Rock Hill, SC; one brother, Richard Newland (Diana) of Interlachen, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Kevin was preceded in death by a brother, Dwain Newland and a sister, Rebecca Pettit.
