Great Falls Mr. Lawrence Edgar Stroud, 88, formerly of Great Falls, died Sunday, February 5, 2012, at National Health Care in Anderson, SC.The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Heath Chapel United Methodist Church.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 7, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Heath Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Stroud was born December 17, 1923 in Richburg and was a son of the late Wade H. Stroud and Orene Crawford Stroud.He was a graduate of Great Falls High School and received his B.S. degree from Clemson A&M College.He was a life-long member of Heath Chapel United Methodist Church where he served as Treasurer and Lay Leader.He was a board member of Farm Bureau and a member of Great Falls Lions Club for more than 50 years and served as a past president.He enjoyed a career in dairy and cattle farming. Mr. Stroud is survived by one daughter, Julia E. Stroud; two sons, Lawrence E. Stroud, Jr. and wife Susan and David A. Stroud; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
