Lois Norred Bankhead

Blackstock Mrs. Lois Norred Bankhead, 100, died at her home Thursday, January 12, 2017.A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Hebron Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jim Williams and Rev. David Riddle officiating.The family will receive friends following the service in Social Hall of Hebron Presbyterian Church. Born February 3, 1916 in Randolph County, AL, she was daughter of the late J. D. Norred and Donie Cofield Norred and the widow of William “Bill” Bankhead.Mrs. Bankhead is a graduate of Randolph County, AL schools , Jacksonville State College, AL, and Post Grad at Winthrop College.She was an Elementary School Teacher in Alabama and at the Great Falls Schools.Mrs. Bankhead was a Speech Therapist later in her career andwas a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church. She is survived by one daughter, Donie Harper (Charles) of Blackstock, SC; four grandchildren, Ashley Leitch of Concord, NC, Allison Van Nest of Greensboro, NC, Jessica Miller of York, SC, and Bill Harper of London, England; and one sister, Blanche Crews of Wedowee, AL.
