Magdalene Dixon

Chester. Magdalene Pope Dixon, 87, died Friday, May 27, 2011 at her home. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 P.M. on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the Great Falls Church of The Nazarene with the Reverend Henry Adams and the Reverend Joey Shetley officiating. The family will receive friends anytime at the home, 1236 Paden Bridge Road, Chester. Born August 10, 1923 in Union County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Raymond and Ida Jane Mills Pope. Mrs. Dixon attended the schools of Union County and was a member of the Great Falls Church of The Nazarene. She was a homemaker. Surviving are two sons, Clyde Dixon and wife Patricia of Great Falls, Charles Dixon and wife Ruby of Lancaster; five daughters, Dorothy Taylor and Joyce McCammon and husband Brent, both of Great Falls, Brenda Roof and husband Ronald of North, SC, Linda Dixon Craig and husband Francis of Chester, and Joyce Greene of New Castle, DE; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers Van Langley Pope and James C Pope, and one great great grandchild Brittany Nicole Jenkins. The pallbearers for the service will be, Dell Hopkins, Kenneth Hopkins, Robin Dixon, Matthew Taylor, Lee Pressley, Brandon Livingston, Brian Dixon, and Larry Hinson.
