Blackstock Mrs. Martha Simpson Bankhead, age 82 of Blackstock, SC died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Carolinas Hospital System, Florence, SC. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Hebron Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 4776 Mountain Gap Rd., Blackstock, SC. Born January 15, 1928 in Fairfield County, SC, she was the daughter of Robert Norman and Martha Irene (Pixley) Yongue Simpson and widow of Alvin O'Neil Bankhead.She was a graduate of Greenbriar High School and Winthrop College and a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Mrs. Bankhead is survived by three daughters, Lynn (Mike) Jackson of Manning, SC, Sue (Ricky) Andrews of Lamar, SC and Pixie (Allen) Roberson of Lexington, SC; six grandchildren, Neil Jackson, Tyler Jackson, Ross Andrews, Austin Andrews, Michael Roberson and Kelsey Roberson all of Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. Memorials may be made to the church of one's choice.
