Martin Leroy Newland, Jr.

Martin Leroy Newland Jr 95 died Friday September 25,2026 at his home in Fort Lawn SC surrounded by his family. A private service will be held at a later date.

 Martin was born February 8,1931 in Alger Ohio to the late Mr. Martin L Newland Sr .and Pearl Norris Newland. He owned and operated a service station for many years as a mechanic. He was a salesman, and a carpenter along with many other trades. His hobbies were building and flying model airplanes and making bird houses and jewelry boxes. He loved trains, boxing, NASCAR (Jeff Gordon) and his Carolina Panthers. He loved making memories with his family. He was a member of Fort Lawn Baptist Church. 

He is survived by his wife Connie Jean Burkey Newland six children Donna (Kevin) Furthmiller of Huntertown In. Connie Slusher, Wanda (Tim) Carpenter, Loretta (Mike) Aquaro all of St Mary’s Oh, Richard (Diane) Newland of Interlachen Fl. and Angela (Tom) Selfridge of Fort Lawn, SC; numerous grandchildren; several great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 children Dwain Newland, Kevin Newland and Rebecca Pettit
