Mary Gillespie Jones

Great Falls Mrs. Mary Gillespie Jones, 92, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Springs Memorial Hospital.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, January 16, 2015, at Heath Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. David Ussery officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Friday at Heath Chapel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Jones was born on November 10, 1922 in Richburg, SC and was a daughter of the late John Thomas Gillespie and Essie Wylie Gillespie.She was a graduate of Lewisville High School and received her LPN degree from Lancaster Vocational School .She was retired from Chester County Hospital and also worked for J.P. Stevens for many years. Mrs. Jones was an active and dedicated member of Heath Chapel United Methodist Church where she was responsible for preparing communion for many years. She is survived by sons, Tommy Jones (Kathy) of Great Falls, Charles Jones (Debbie) of Isle of Palms, and David Jones (Denise) of Blythewood; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, Frazier Gillespie (Margaret) of Rock Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 44 years, Abe Culp Jones.
