Great Falls Mrs. Mary Frances Baker Lathan, 66, died Thursday, June 11, 2015, at her home.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 14, 2015, at Bethesda United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Phillips and Rev. Marty Roberts officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Saturday, June 13, at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC. Mrs. Lathan was born November 22, 1948 in Lancaster County, SC and was a daughter of the late Julius Vander “Joe” Baker and Ruby Christine Craig Baker.She was a graduate of Great Falls High School class of 1968 and was formerly employed with Springs Industries and Hadden House Distribution Co.She volunteered with the Cub Scouts and was the cheerleading coach for the Recreation Department team.Mary Frances considered herself to be an “information engineer” as she kept up-to-date on all current happenings.She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She is survived by her husband, John D. “ Doug” Lathan; one son, Douglas Lathan (Jeannie) of Williamston, SC; one daughter, Carman Lathan of the home; one grandson, Mason Lathan of Williamston, SC; two granddaughters, Marcie Ebbers of the home and Valerie McAbee of Great Falls, SC; brother, Talmadge Baker of Rock Hill, SC; two sisters, Judy Hammond of Rock Hill and Joann Nunnery of Great Falls.
