Great Falls, SC:Mr. Maxcy Mills Broome, 87, died Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the Lancaster Convalescent Centerin Lancaster, SC.The funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at First Baptist Church Great Falls with Rev. Marty Roberts and Rev. Brian Hovis officiating.The interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30 P.M. Monday, April 18, 2016 at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home. Born January 31, 1929 in Chester County, SC, Mr. Broome was the son of the late Mills and Bessie McWaters Broome. He attended the schools of Great Falls and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War.He was retired owner and operator of Max’s Garage.Maxcy enjoyed building andracing dirt track cars.He earned many points championships and has had the privilege of building race cars for over thirty drivers. He is survived by his wife of over sixty-five years Carolyn Perry Broome; three sons, Roddey Broome of Great Falls, Michael Broome and Richard Broome all of Great Falls, SC; one daughter, Carol Ann Roache(Kerry) of Mocksville, NC; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by one son, Maxcy Alexander Broome.
