Melva Jean Roberts Duvel

Mrs. Melva Jean Roberts Duvel, 71, died Tuesday, July 8, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Mitford Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Marty Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM also Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Mitford Baptist Church. Interment will be private.

Mrs. Duvel was born March 29, 1954 in Chester, SC and was the daughter of Helen Leona Baker Roberts and the late Henry Cecil Roberts. She was a graduate of Chester County Schools and was a homemaker. Melva was an avid reader, liked to travel, was a diehard Clemson fan, and loved her family.

She is survived by her husband of over 24 years, Ronald Duvel; her mother, Helen Baker Roberts ; three children, Sharon Moree (Jimmy) of Surfside Beach, SC, Heather Plyler of Great Falls, SC and Jeff Duvel (Heather) of Newburg, MO.; five grandchildren, Hunter McManus (Kaylee), Jordan Roberts (Breanna), Aidan Moree, Laney Duvel (Ethan) and Kenzie Duvel (Gage) ; great-grandchildren, Grayson, Dawson and Haysleigh; one sister, Donna Carnes (Shannon) of Lancaster, SC and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son Jason Duvel and her sister Brenda Roberts.
