Melvin Thomas "Red" Rape GREAT FALLS: Mr. Melvin Thomas "Red" Rape died Friday March 6, 2009 at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster, SC.He was 78. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Great Falls with the Rev. Greg Batchelor and the Rev. Larry Roberts officiating.Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Mr. Rape was born September 17, 1930 in Great Falls, a son of the late John W. and Pearl Hemric Rape.He attended the schools of Great Falls, was a veteran of the US Navy during the Korean War, and was retired from J.P. Stevens Company. Surviving are his wife, Edwina Morgan Rape; daughter, Robyn Rape Blackmon and her husband Scott of Lancaster; granddaughters, Morgan and Mallory Blackmon of Lancaster; and a sister, Geraldine Thomas of Great Falls. The family will receive friends from 5:00 ~ 7:00 Sunday at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Avenue, Great Falls.
