Mildred S. Smith

Great Falls Mrs. Mildred S. Smith, 76, died Friday, June 12, 2015, at Springs Memorial Hospital. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center, 407 Dearborn St., Great Falls. Interment will be private. Mrs. Smith was born December 22, 1938 in Mecklenburg County, NC a daughter of the late Justin Walter Sansbury and Agatha White Brown and step-father, Eldridge Brown. She was a graduate of Timmonsville High School and attended Florence School of Business.She graduated from the USC School of Nursing, retired from the SC Department of Mental Health as a Certified Mental Health Registered Nurse and was formerly employed with Appletree Fashions and Cinderella Knitting Mill. Mrs. Smith was a member of First Baptist Church since 1963. She is survived by her husband, Millard C. Smith, one son, Bradley Smith (Tonya) of Great Falls; one daughter, Julia Cassandra "Candy" Smith and her companion Denise Jordan of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Stephanie, Miriam, Bethany, and Samantha; and life-long friends, Linda Marshall of Florence, Harriet Hayes of Hartsville, and Rebecca Brooks of Newland, NC.
