Great Falls Mrs. Peggy Brasil Peach, 82, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at her home after a long period of declining health.Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 20, at Mt. Dearborn United Methodist Church with Rev. David Ussery and Rev. Jerry Phillips officiating.Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 19, at the home at 3303 Ridgeway Rd., Great Falls, SC. Mrs. Peach was born August 11, 1931 in Great Falls and was a daughter of the late Roy Eugene Brasil and Lillian Farmer Rae Brasil.She attended Winthrop College for more than a year before transferring to USC in Columbia where she graduated in 1953 having married the love of her life, Daniel C. Peach, Jr. in 1952.She taught in the public schools of Great Falls, Spartanburg, Orangeburg, and Columbia, SC.She and her husband moved back to Great Falls in 1973 where they made their home and raised their daughter and son.Mrs. Peach was a lifelong member of Mt. Dearborn United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities including the chancel choir, president of United Methodist Women, pastor parish relations committee, and member of the official board.She and her husband, Dan, are avid Carolina Gamecock fans, having been members of the Gamecock Club for 50 years, where they have spent many pleasant hours tailgating with lifelong friends at USC games. Peggy was a talented seamstress, crocheter, and artist and enjoyed numerous household hobbies.She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who adored her family and took the absolute best care of them.She was always there for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Dan; one daughter, Amanda “Mandy” Peach of Great Falls; one son, Daniel C. “Trey” Peach, III of Great Falls; and two grandchildren, Peggy Hope Maiden and Benjamin Ross Maiden both of Great Falls.Mrs. Peach was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn BrasilArnold and William Arnold.
