Lake Wateree Mr. Phillip Edwin Cribb, Sr., 79, died Sunday, June 29, 2014, at UniHealth-Tanglewood Rehabilitation Center in Ridgeway, SC.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Lake Wateree Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Arnold officiating.Interment will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday at Flint Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Fort Mill, SC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC. Mr. Cribb was born October 19, 1934 in Whiteville, NC and was a son of the late Stephen Wesley Cribb and Lettie Jane Cribb.He attended Williams Township High School in Whiteville, NC, served in the U.S. Army, and was retired from Eckerd Drug as a truck driver.Mr. Cribb was a member of Lake Wateree Baptist Church.He enjoyed his sawmill, woodworking, gardening, and playing his harmonica. He is survived by his wife Praxedes Cribb; one son, Phillip E. “Eddie” Cribb, Jr. and wife Patti of Fort Mill; three daughters, Elizabeth Irene Cribb and fiancé Stephen of Knoxville, Tenn.; Phyllis Elaine Chesser and husband Michael of Lake Wateree, and Helen Edith Embry and husband David of Aldie, Virginia; fifteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Cribb of Whiteville, NC and Bobby Cribb of Summerville, SC; and three sisters, Ruby Blackwell of Little River, SC, Mary Lee Bruton of Shallotte, NC, and Willa Dean Ellison of New Bern, NC.He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth White Cribb; a daughter, Teresa Joanne Chapman; three brothers, Clayton Cribb, Stephen W. Cribb, Jr. and Billy Cribb; and two sisters, Pauline Pittock and Estelle Jolly. The family would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Dorn VA Hospital in Columbia, SC for their excellent care of their father.
