Rachel Cornella "Connie" Cogdell Peake

Rachel Cornelia “Connie” Peake, 89 passed away on January 2, 2023. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM , Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Lake Wateree Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Hanf officating . Friends may view and pay their respects on Thursday from 12:00 PM to 5:00PM and Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC. Connie was born to the late Steve Burnett Cogdell and Ellen Young Cogdell and ws the wife of the late Langford J. Peake “L.P “ for 19 years. Connie worked as a waitress in Gastonia, NC before moving to Lake Wateree, SC. She was a faithful member of Lake Wateree Baptist Church and enjoyed the fellowship and socials they would have. She was famous for her cast iron pans of cornbread and her homemade pimento cheese. In addition to her parents and husband, Connie was preceded in death by her brothers, Steve Burnett Cogdell, Ernest Arthur Cogdell, Herman Burnett Cogdell, sisters, Helen Ruth Griffie, Janette Cogdell Quinn and two infant brothers Ralph Henry Cogdell and Harold Dean Cogdell. Connie leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins. Many thanks to the compassion shown to Aunt Connie during her stay at Southwinds Assisted Living and also Cresent Hospice those last few weeks.
