Robert James Mccowan

Great Falls/ Winnsboro Mr. Robert James McCowan, Sr., 89, died Friday, October 1, 2021 at MUSC Health Columbia Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, October 4, 2021 at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home. All other services are private. Mr. McCowan was born May 28, 1932 in Chester County and was a son of the late Thomas William McCowan and Carrie Belk McCowan. He attended the schools of Chester County and was employed with The Chester County School District for 25 years. Mr. McCowan was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean War. He is survived by one son Robert J. McCowan Jr. of Mitford, SC, one daughter, Amanda Lynn McCowan of Blythewood, SC; three grandchildren, Victoria McCowan of Newnan, GA, Gauge Peavy of Blythewood, SC and Colton Newman of Blythewood, SC; one great-granddaughter Ellie Mae McCowan of Newnan, GA.; two sisters, Sandra Hardee of Lake Wateree, SC and Rhonda Conley of Great Falls, SC.
