Mr. Robert Marion Sims, 88, died Friday, June 29, 2012 at Chester Regional Nursing Center. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Evangel Temple Assembly of God with Rev. Mike Sollers officiating. Interment will follow at Royal Pines Cemetery in Winnsboro, South Carolina. Family will receive friends from 11:00-11:45 AM Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Evangel Temple Assembly of God. Born February 4, 1924, Mr. Sims was the son of the late John Sims and Nannie Branham Sims. He attended the schools of Fairfield County, South Carolina and was retired from Uniroyal Tire Company. He served in the United States Army from 1942-1946 during WWII.Mr. Sims was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, a sixty year member of Great Falls Masonic Lodge #277 and a Shriner. He is survived by his wife Peggy Sims of Great Falls; a son, William C. Bass, Jr. of Rock Hill, SC; two daughters Teresa B. Freeman and husband Russell of Lancaster, Wendy B. Harper and husband Stoney of Great Falls; two brothers John Sims of Ridgeway, SC, Clarence Sims of Sumter, SC; a sister Betty Wilson of West Palm Beach, FL; two grandchildren Justin Tyler Harper and Bayleigh Lynn Harper. He was preceded in death by his first wife Sara Taylor Sims, a brother Alvin Sims and a sister Jewel Johnson. Memorials can be made to Shriners Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
