Blackstock Mr. Roger Joseph “Pop” Arsenault, 79, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 15, 2013.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 21, 2013, at the Catholic Presbyterian Church, 2330 Old Catholic Church Rd., Blackstock, SC with Rev. Wayne Pruitt officiating.Interment will be private. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 21, following the memorial service in the fellowship hall of the Catholic Presbyterian Church. Mr. Arsenault was born September 2, 1933 in Lisbon, Maine and was a son of the lateArthur Arsenault and Victoria King Arsenault.He graduated high school in Lisbon, Maine and the University of Maine Technical College and served in the National Guard Reserves. He was employed by the W.S. Libby Company for twenty years and later worked at the Wilco Travel Center where he did maintenance.Mr. Arsenault was skilled in many trades including deer processing, roofing and siding, and industrial engineering.“Pop” enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and farming.Roger was a kind, friendly person, well-liked by all, and never met a stranger.He chose to follow the Catholic faith. He was survived by his wife of 17 years, Elizabeth Ann Jordan Arsenault; six children and three step-children, George Arsenault and wife Becky, Joan Brunette and husband Pat, and Brenda Edwards and husband Jerry all of St. Augustine, Florida, Bonnie Gagnon and friend Pat of Greene, Maine, Darlene Riggs and husband Denny of North Carolina, Doreen Poulin and husband Ron of Auburn, Maine, Margaret Ferguson and husband David of Blythewood, SC, Elaine Dube and husband Victor of Richburg, SC, and Regan Causey and husband Neal of Lexington, SC; twenty grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Jack Arsenault; two grandchildren, Samantha Edwards and John Riggs; and his first wife, Pauline Lagasse.
