Great Falls Mr. Rudolph Phillips, 73, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Springs Memorial Hospital.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Susan Wight officiating.The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Mr. Phillips was born August 3, 1939, in Fairfield County and was a son of the late James Phillips and Lula Parker Arnold Phillips.He attended the schools of Winnsboro and Great Falls, retired from the University of South Carolina as a maintenance technician, and was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.Mr. Phillips was an avid outdoorsman, wonderful husband, father, and friend. He is survived by his wife of more than 51 years, Mary Lynne McKenzie Phillips; one daughter, Connie P. Bass of Chipley, Florida; five grandchildren. Michael Taylor, Crystal T. Chiofalo, Lacey Bass, Sam Bass, and Max Bass all of Chipley, Florida; one sister, Shirley Steele of Rock Hill; numerous nieces and nephews; and special family friends, Amy and Tommy Baker of Great Falls and Earl and Linda Walker of Winnsboro.
