Great Falls Mrs. Ruth Diane Blackmon Evans, 67, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, September 22, 2013.Funeral services will beheld at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 25, at Camp Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Catoe and Dr. Ricks Harris officiating.Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Great Falls. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday in the sanctuary of Camp Creek United Methodist Church, 4721 Great Falls Hwy., Lancaster, SC. Mrs. Evans was born June 8, 1946 in Lancaster County, SC and was a daughter of the late Fred E. Blackmon and Katie Balkcum Blackmon .She attended the schools of Lancaster County, was retired from the food service industry, and was a member of the Senior Circle at Springs Memorial Hospital.She was a member of Camp Creek United Methodist Church and also attended Douglas Presbyterian Church. She is survived by one brother, Ernest Blackmon and wife Teresa of Lancaster; one step-daughter, Sandra Evans-Kennington and husband Mel of Great Falls; two step-sons, Michael Evans of Great Falls and Mark Evans of North Augusta, SC; two step-grandchildren, Chris Kennington of Great Falls and Elliott Evans of Myrtle Beach; two nieces, Stacey Blackmon of Kershaw and Rachael Blackmon of Spartanburg; one nephew, Kevin Thompson of Lancaster; and a life-long friend, Christine Baker of Lancaster.She was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Blackmon Thompson and a step-daughter, Amanda Evans Herlth.
