Ruth Wylie Pittman

Great Falls Ruth Wylie Pittman, 87, died Sunday, September 25, 2011 at her home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Greenlawn Cemetery with the Reverend Mary Ann Welch officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the Great Falls Presbyterian Church fellowship hall. Born September 25, 1924 in Great Falls, SC, Miss Pittman was a daughter of the late Lemuel Wylie Pittman and Ruth Pittman. Miss Pittman graduated from Winthrop University with a degree in Home Economics, and received her Masters degree in Education from the University of North Carolina - Greensboro. Miss Pittman taught Home Economics and was a stewardess with Delta Air Lines. She was retired from South Carolina Electric and Gas Company as a home service supervisor. She is survived by one nephew, G. Douglas Holman of Pawleys Island, SC; one niece Ellen C. Holman of Leesville, SC; one great nephew Bates Holman and one great great niece Lyla Holman.
