BLACKSTOCK: Mr. Sanford Keith McDonald, 87, died Sunday, March 06, 2016 at Chester Regional Nursing Center.The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Hebron Presbyterian Church with Reverend Jim Williams officiating.The interment will be in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends immediately following the committal at the graveside in the fellowship hall of the church. Born July 19, 1928 in Blackstock, SC, Mr. McDonald was the son of the late John Thomas McDonald, Jr. and Kate Smith McDonald.He was a graduate of Great Falls High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Berry College, Mt. Berry, GA.He was retired from S.C. DHEC and also cattle farming.He was a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, Deacon and Executive Secretary of Hebron Presbyterian Cemetery.He was also a member of the Great Falls Masonic Lodge #277, Hejaz Shrine, SC Cattleman’s Association, SC Farm Bureau and was a registered sanitarian and environmentalist.In 1989 he received Cattleman of the year for South Carolina. He is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Bettie Grant McDonald; one son, Keith McDonald and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Cloninger and Evelyn Rash and one brother, Elliott McDonald.
