Shirley Moss Osborne

Mrs. Shirley Moss Osborne, 90, died Sunday, April 6, 2025 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM, April 9, 2025 at First Baptist Church Great Falls, SC with Rev. Steve Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM also Wednesday at the church.

Mrs. Osborne was born September 7, 1934 in Spindale, NC and was the daughter of the late Olin V. Moss and Jettie R. Moss. She was the wife of the late James Harvey Osborne. Mrs. Osborne was a member of First Baptist Church in Great Falls where she served as Sunday School Teacher, Church Clerk, WMU Director, Choir member and on various other committees. She was elected and served as the first female moderator for The Chester Baptist Association and also served as their administrative assistant, clerk, and treasurer and served on Board of Directors of the Senior Services of Chester County.

She is survived by two sons, Stanley Eugene Osborne and his wife Beverly of Rock Hill, SC and Stephen Douglas Osborne and his wife Kathy of Catawba, SC; one daughter, Phoebe  Pettit of Fort Lawn, SC; five grandchildren, Tanya Pettit, Dawn Pettit, Melissa Belk, Stephen Osborne and Tyler Osborne; eleven great-grandchildren, Ashland, Preston, Cameron, Sydney, Marley, Kinsley, Kaden, Ellie, River, Endy and Emerie. ; two great-great grandchildren, Heaven and Cyrus; two very special friends, Joyce Williams and Teresa Lucas; she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Moss Sr. her sister, Joyce Moss Wilson and her son-in-law Ronald Pettit.
