LAKE WATEREE, SC Mr. Steven Ashby Suthard, 65, of 623 Gunsite Road, Winnsboro, SC passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at his home. A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Great Falls, SC with Rev. Susan Moore Wight officiating with interment of ashes in the church memorial garden.The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 30 Hampton Street, Great Falls, SC. Born May 8, 1949 in Lancaster, SC, Steve was the son of the late Russell Ashby and Sadie Wallace Suthard.He was a graduate of Great Falls High School and the University of South Carolina.He was retired from Mack Trucks, Winnsboro and Shealy Truck Center, Columbia.He was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.Steve was a loving husband, a wonderful father and the best Paw Paw.He was an avid reader and history buff.Steve was a quiet and gentle spirit with a quick wit. He is survived by his wife of over thirty-seven years, Jane Gates Suthard; three daughters, Julie Phillips (Joe) of Irmo, Jada Suthard of Great Falls, and Jessica Suthard of Lake Wateree; four grandchildren, Savannah, Colby and Olivia Phillips and Emma Suthard; one brother, Michael A. Suthard (Marquerite) of St. Simons Island, GA and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Gail Gates of Winnsboro, Joe Gates of Darlington and Ronnie and Beverly Gates of Rock Hill.
