Sue Frances Graham Laney

Sue Frances Graham Laney, 92, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, October 17, 2026. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 8, 2026 at Trinity Baptist Church, 112 Chester Ave, Great Falls, SC with Rev. Chase Catledge officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM also Sunday at the church.

Mrs. Laney was born February 9, 1934 in Lincoln County, NC and was the daughter of the late Wilson and Odessa Hoke Graham. After moving to Great Falls, she wore many hats including working for Hoke Lumber Company and later First Citizens Bank where she made many lifelong friends during her 27 plus years there. She served her community in the Home Demonstration Club Garden Club, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. Sue was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church starting when it was merely a mission, she served her congregation as a choir member, church treasurer and Sunday School Teacher.

She is survived by her children, Charles Laney (Shannon) and Daris Laney both of Great Falls, SC; one daughter, Jana Dehart of Evans GA; six grandchildren, Jenifer Luton (John), Casey Rutland, Clay Laney (Ashlyn), Jacob Laney, Glen Dehart (Sharon) and Chris Dehart (Reginia); six great-grandchildren, Holly, Camille and Eli Luton, Kaliyah Dye, Marley Ford and Abby Grace Laney; one brother, Mike Graham (Kay) and many dearly loved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Harold Daris Laney, her brother, J.C. Graham, sister, Jeannette Grass and her grandson, James Laney.
