Great Falls Mr. Thomas Wayne Carter, 66, died Monday, September 23, 2013, at his home.A graveside service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 28, at Heath Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery with Rev. Ron Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, September 27, at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC 29055 and other times at the home of Marilyn Powers, 401 Sunset Ave., Great Falls, SC. Mr. Carter was born June 30, 1947 in Lancaster County, SC and was the son of Eunice Blackwell Carter and the late Thomas Hurley “Mutt” Carter.He was a graduate of Great Falls High School class of 1965, attended Kings Business College in Charlotte, NC, and served in the U.S. Army.He retired from AT&T after more than 30 years of serviceand continued to do contract work for D.H. Communications.Mr. Carter was a member of Great Falls Masonic Lodge #277. In addition to his mother, Eunice B. Carter of Great Falls, he is survived by his wife, Susan Jackson Carter;one son, Jimmy Dean Carter of Conway; one granddaughter, Haleigh Carter of Aynor, SC; and one sister, Marilyn Powers and husband Butch of Great Falls.
