Heath Springs Mr. Thomas Edward “James” Polston, 72,died Sunday, July 13, 2014, at his home.The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at the home, 3731 Hoke Rd., Heath Springs, SC.Mr. Polston has requested there be no formal memorial service.Interment will be private. Mr. Polston was born in Lancaster County, SC on January 24, 1942and was a son of the late Barney Polston and Annie Mae Sims Polston. He attended the schools of Lancaster County, SC and was retired as a carpenter from Polston Construction Company.Mr. Polston was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Hattie Hinson Polston; four children, Thom E. Polston and fiancé Norma of Heath Springs, Dianna Doster and husband John of Lancaster, Betty Freeman and husband Johnof Lancaster, Iva Mae “P-Nut” Marshall and her friend Larry “Cowboy” Taylor of Kershaw, and Glenn Taylor of Lancaster whom James and Hattie raised as a son; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Jenkins of Lancaster.He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
