Great Falls Mr. Thomas Coleman Sims, 82, died Monday, April 15, 2019, at Prisma Health Richland.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Tabernacle Ministries with Rev. Kenneth Compton officiating.Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Wednesday at the church. Mr. Sims was born June 2, 1936 in Lancaster County, SC and was a son of the late Herbert and Alice Catoe Sims.He attended Flat Creek School and was formerly employed at J.P. Stevens and Springs Industries.Mr. Sims was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Viola Oliver Sims; four children, Julie Blackwell (Bobby) of Blackstock, Ricky Sims (Rachel) of Great Falls, Randy Sims of Chester, and Kathy Payne (David) of York; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, James Sims of Kershaw; and two sisters, Jeannie Geddings of Manning and Sybil Pittman of Kershaw.Mr. Sims was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Sims; four brothers, Leroy, Edward, C.L. and Wade Sims; and two sisters, Mildred Ogburn and Bertha Knight.
